I was chatting with my younger sister this morning and she told me she
has been on Atkins Induction for the last 3 days. I was so happy to
hear that as she has been steadily gaining weight and has been having
a lot of digestive problems from eating wheat and other grains.

She told me the digestive problems have almost cleared up now
and she feels more energetic today after having some tiredness and bad
headaches yesterday. It was cute to hear her talking about how many
carbs are in this food or that food and reminded me how into it I was
when I first started Atkins. Then when she was wondering where to get
some Atkins products I told her where she could buy them but also told
her to read her book well, asked what vitamins she was taking and make
sure she drinks a LOT of water which she likes to do anyway.

I hope she succeeds in this. I know her weight gain has been bothering
her a lot lately. She used to be one of those thin types when we were
in highschool together but her weight is well over 200 pounds now
and I have been noticing she has been eating a lot of carbs.
I kept quiet about it but am glad she finally has realized that and
will learn now that she was eating crap. She is also worried about
getting diabetes like our mom had. We both have that 50/50 chance of
getting it but I am really glad she has decided to go on Atkins and I
will be as supportive as I can be when she needs it.

I am just so *happy* for her because I know this WOE will be good for
her.

Now if I could just get her to quit smoking. :-)

Great for her and good for you. It would be nice, I think, to have

someone to share ideas and encouragement for the diet. Sounds like you'll
be a great resource for her.

I don't know about that but I am happy she
has decided to do something that will benefit her health.
