Default Juice

When I get up in the morning I have my morning juice, take a walk come home
and have breakfast. I have been drinking frozen orange juice. After making
it I put in additional water in it so I drink one pint which equals 100
calories. I tried mango juice which is higher in calories and in sugar and
gives me that yo yo effect. I think grapefruit is the way to go or maybe
half orange and half grapefruit. Would this be a good way to go or does
anyone have a better idea? I just want the 100 calories in the morning so I
can take my 3 mile walk.

Richard

I don't drink juice since it's a somewhat unfulfilling way to get calories -
no fiber. Maybe eat an orange or grapefuit instead?

Hello Richard........

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "yo yo" effect. Are you referring
to your blood sugar levels? Are you a diabetic? IF you are a diabetic,
then juice first thing in the morning is a bad choice. I have also heard (I
don't know the true facts) that there is also evidence that drinking fruit
juices causes weight gain in young children, which may or may not affect
you.

Perhaps you can explain why you are fixed on only 100 calories in the
morning and why you associate needing 100 calories prior to your 3 mile
walk?

100 calories is usually 2 WW points and there are many choices you can make
for 2 points.

If it's the fruit that you want, then why not eat 2 fresh oranges (or
whatever) and then you are at least getting the fiber from it and not just
squeezed-watered down juice?

If it's the carbs you are trying to control, then calories have nothing to
do with it.

I'd like to offer you some suggestions, but you need to elaborate more on
what your goal is in the morning.

Yo Yo means high blood sugar - low blood sugar
No I'm not diabetic but it runs in my family
I've drink diluted juice every morning for 20+ years and it works, I just
though I would mention it here.
I don't care about the calories, it just happens to be 100
When I wake up in the morning I can't eat anything like most people so it's
juice which is diluted and one pint which helps replace the liquid lost that
night.
Carbs today are a fad and doesn't concern me except to use common since in
consuming them.
I'm eating 2000 calories and I need 2500, that a no brainier for good health
Just thought I would ask a simply question.

Thanks Richard

So is your original question simply only, "should you mix half grapefruit
juice with half orange juice?"
?????
