Really?

At 5'9" I now weigh 246. (Nearly 50 lbs lost!) When I weighed 150 a
million years ago, I could not touch a size 8 ANYTHING I would be
beyond thrilled if I ever get into comfortably a 14.

Amazons run in my family. I will know I am there when I get there
weightwise!

I'm 5'8" and a 14 was basically my size when I weighed in the 140s-150s
range 20 years ago. I can even clearly recall some specific skirts in
size 14 that I ordered from Lands End back then and wore to work all the
time.

But 6 years ago near the end of a diet, I was wearing 14s (including
some jeans and pants from Lands End) while weighing in the 170s!
Obviously I did not suddenly grow taller, so something is up with the
sizing of women's clothes.

Actually I was being facetious. She looked ridiculous. :-)

Today's 6 is the old 12 from the 1970s. Back in 1978 the only time I could
get into a 6 was when I weighed 108 lbs and hadn't eaten lunch. Now I'm a
six with 30 more pounds on me.

Why do women put up with that kind of cr*p? Men can use a tape
measure and have their size. Inches and centimeters have not
been resized in quite some time. I may be on the line between
two sizes, but if some men's clothing manufacture tries to play
that game, goodbye there are plenty of other manufacturers.

Sorry to disagree with you Doug, but it's not even so with men's sizes.
Today's "medium" polo shirt is yesterday's large. Tried on any Tee shirts

Hiding how big America really has become with the food pyramid .. this
way they can say, but on average, people wear a medium??

Correct Pat, my waist measures 40", yet I can get into 36" Jeans with no
problem!

Strange, but true!

My 42's are like potato sacks now! :-)
