Default Potato Recipes

The potato, a staple food in most parts of the world, is one of our
most versatile vegetables and therefore there are many potato recipes
which can be found.

Plain boiled, mashed, baked, fried, chipped, or stewed, there are
innumerable ways to cook them and mix them with other ingredients.
For best results, choose potatoes accordingly to the potato recipe you
have.
The russet, or Idaho, is best for frying or baking, and the similar
long white can be boiled, baked or fried.
Round red and round white have less starch and more moisture, making
them best for boiling.
There are also potato recipes which explain how they can be roasted or
fried.
New potatoes are hard and waxy; they're excellent boiled or roasted,
and hold their shape well in salads.
There are many providers of potato recipes in the internet.
Here is a great potato recipe: Stuffed baked potatoes: INGREDIENTS:.
* 4 large baking potatoes, about 2 pounds.
* 4 tablespoons softened butter or margarine.
* 3/4 cup sour cream.
* 3/4 teaspoon salt.
* 1/4 teaspoon white or black pepper.
* Paprika.
* shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese.
PREPARATION:.
Scrub potatoes and pat dry.
Bake in a 350?oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until cooked through and
tender.
Cut potatoes in half lengthwise; scoop out pulp and mash or put
through a ricer.
Beat in butter, sour cream, salt and pepper.
Pile potato mixture back into only 6 of the shells.
Sprinkle with shredded cheese then sprinkle with paprika.
Bake in a 425?oven for about 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and
potatoes are heated through.
Baked stuffed potato recipe serves 6.
All together, potato recipes are very accessible and are easy to make.
