Thanks - I was looking for it to show up in my header and it didn't. I
can't figure out how to add things to my headers from my posting agent.

It can be used either in the header, or the first line of the body of
the message.

(if Jenn replied from google, doesn't that suggest it didn't work?)

Google keeps the post for 6 days and has a header on it that the poster
requests it not be archived. I was using the new google groups which is
still in beta.

And thanks, Beverly, I went looking for Beeswing but couldn't find any

You won't find the originals. However, lots of people quote part or
all of a post in the reply. I found 980 of her posts this way in
alt.support.diet alone. And if you go into other groups, the mind
boggles, there are 2,800.

If you want to post in news groups, the only way to keep folks from
being able to look you up is to post anonymously. Then your posts will
show up, but they won't be attributable to you.

But if you post anonymously people won't know how to put your post in
context and won't answer usefully. Seriously, this *is* my version of
anonymous. No, I don't think I'm anonymous, it's just that it is pretty
near impossible to be part of a community without people knowing who you
are.

I'd suggest to change slightly your nickname now and then.
I mean, you could become Dallie, so that most people easily recognise
you but you become a completely new poster to google, at least for
researches based on the nickname.
