LC funny
I was lectured on my "unhealthy fad diet" today.
The funny part was that the lecture came from somone who was eating an oversized deli sandwich with chips and a soda while I was eating organic mixed greens topped with extra virgin olive oil and no-salt added tuna & drinking mineral water Such an absurd worldRobyn |

Did you point this information out to your lecturer? Yup, but I don't think that she really got it because she was so busy pointing out how important "whole grains" are It is amazing how people can be in such deep denial. That "whole wheat bread," which probably contained no more whole grains than Wonder bread made the her lunch healthy and mine a silly dad diet. Sad part is that she is in the program to become a personal trainerRobyn |

The one group that can NEVER be sold on the LC lifestyle, are the ones that can eat whatever they want and stay thin. They keep lecturing low calorie, small portions, and exercise is all you need. They don't understand that most of US LCers simply can't do it that way. -- JK Sinrod Sinrod Stained Glass Studios www.sinrodstudios.com Coney Island Memories www.sinrodstudios.com/coneymemories |

We just don't have to be hungry while doing it through the beauty of ketosis. Not so. I used to visit my sister (now passed away) whose metabolism was the exact opposite of mine. She would be wiping the cream off her second Vienna Coffee with her third Mars Bar, telling me that if I just used a little willpower I'd be as slender as she was. She was eating roughly 3000 cals a day, got only extraneous exercise but had SUCH a fast metabolism it burned off rapidly, leaving her frail and gaunt if she missed a meal or snack for more than a few days. I, on the other hand, was gaining weight on as little as 1000 cals a day on my Evil Low Fat, High Carb diet, while exercising several times a week. When I first switched to LC, I was losing weight on 2000 cals a day, and (in an experiment where I literally drank oil several times a day) can go up as high as 6000 cals a day without gaining - as long as I keep my carb intake very low. Mind you, I don't WANT to eat that much. I'm quite comfortable now eating around 1500 cals a day, even though I'm not losing weight (but that's a whole other story and has a lot to do with the meds I'm taking). I'm still able to eat more, and not gain weight, as long as I keep my carb intake low. For ME, and I don't necessarily claim it's true for others, it's all about the carb levels. Aramanth |

And may I add that Aramanth changed the way she sleeps. Apologies for barging in but A's experience how sleep quality can affect weight loss is really really important IMHO and I would like to thank Aramanth loads and loads for sharing. Cheers, Ada |
