It helps to be human for the Atkins diet to work.

It doesn't work for Rabbits, for example, because rabbits don't like
pork sausage and eggs. :-)

So, there is more to the Atkins diet than just eating meat, right?

You have to eat until satisfied, not full.

You have to eat vegetables.

You have to exercise.

I could go on, but why bother.

What you describe is not what Atkins is. Before discussing their
reactions to a diet competant people actually try it first.

For any weight loss plan, you should change your settled lifestyle to
see results.

This involves either decreasing Calorie intake, most importantly,
through cutting down the carbohydrate intake, or increasing the
Calorie output through physical activity.

Dr. Atkins was the first one who put the theory into practice. His
diet plan is based on "ketosis", a known physiological mechanism that
shifts the process of maintaining blood glucose levels- the glucose
store of the brain- from external supply,
which is determined by appetite alone, to an internal glucose supply,
whic is made by the liver from proteins and fats.

The diet works when you are strictly bound to the plan. The first
thing needed is that you should have the mindset of "changing life
style", before starting the plan.

Atkins himself is dead. So yes, his diet DOES WORK. It works if you
want to DIE. Some people obviously have no brains at all. The guy is
dead, yet they continue to follow his diet. Does anyone see anything
wrong with this picture?

He didn't die because of his diet. He died because he fell on an icy
sidewalk and his brain swelled up.

Errr this may come as a big surprise to you but we all will die.... sooner
or later you included. If you think someone slipping on the ice, suffering
with coma and a subdural hematoma and then going into full system organ
failure had something to do with what he was eating then I guess we all know
where that leaves you.

There's the proof. If his diet was so great, how come he did not have
good balance? A healthy person wont simply fall on ice or anything
else because they have good balance. The only time a healthy person
falls is when they are pushed or hit by a car or something like that.
Not only that, but why did his brain swell? If he was healthy that
would not have happened. Besides, did YOU see him fall? How do you
know this is true? If there is any truth to this at all, he likely
fell due to clogged arteries and was having a stroke when he fell. I
want to see the medical and autopsy records. He lied during his life
and very likely lied at the moment of death.

Let's see what your balance is like on ice when you're in your 70's.
You make it sound like he died at 40, when in fact he had a normal and
lifespan.
