Just because death is a normal part of life doesn't mean it isn't painful to
the survivors. Grief is also normal. In , JC Der Koenig stated | | You wouldn't bring it up if you didn't want to go there. Death is all | around us and that's just the way it goes. Do you think you are so | special that death should never touch you? |

I'm also back at the gym 5 days per week!!! Never heard of traumatic depression? Try losing your best freind, sister, soulmate and mom all rolled up into one. Watching them die slowly of a terminal condition while all you can do is stand by helplessly and watch them die. Life sucks sometimes! Wiccans are supposed to be more in tune with life cycles. People die. That's part of life. Don't even go there... I know you get off on being an asshole, but I am NOT going to go there with you. It still hurts too much. You wouldn't bring it up if you didn't want to go there. Death is all around us and that's just the way it goes. Do you think you are so special that death should never touch you? You seem to think it's special, since you said before that bad things don't happen to everyone. Who said it's a bad thing? It happens. It's not bad because it happens? Why is it necessarily bad? I can think of many cases where it's good. Ok, sure. Actually, I'm uncomfortable labeling events as "good" or "bad." There are things we want to happen, and things we don't want to happen. When something that you don't want happens, it's normal and natural to feel sad, angry, frustrated, etc. It's also normal to do out of character things when one is really sad, like eating too much or too little, sleeping too much or too little, taking time off work or school, etc. Sometimes emotions are so big that they require all your energy to process, which means other things temporarily fall by the wayside, but eventually you move on and return to normal. |

... We're talking about a diet which encourages bacon, are we not? Conventional wisdom would say that eating any fat in a diet is generally a bad idea. But, the low-carb method challenges this. I don't think anyone really encourages bacon, just includes bacon. If you want encouragement we're talking about fish, asparagus, leaf lettuce, green beans, celery, cucumbers, radish, cauliflower, etc. Also, the fats in nuts, avocado, and olives are good for you. btw, I was talking to my aunt yesterday, she has been low carbing for a while now. She has RA, fibro and was just diagnosed last week with lupus. She was telling me that wheat makes her pain worse. -- No Husband Has Ever Been Shot While Doing The Dishes |

Which is exactly why I brought it up... It's the reason it's taken me this long to try to get back into shape again. It was a long, hard road and staying in shape and eating properly were not my main priorities. And after the fact, for nearly 3 years, I did not give a rats ass due to sorrow and depression. Well, even tho' I still miss her and it still hurts, I've learned to cope finally and it's time to move on and prioritize what I need to do to fix my health... My question is: Is there an Atkins principle or low-carb reason for the fact that tacos either help me maintain or encourage weightloss even though mine are laden with fat, and the fact that spaghetti does not? Half of Atkins is about food intolerances. Yup, there's a standard Atkins answer to what you've described. If you were to follow the directions for Atkins eventually you would discover that wheat is a binge trigger for you and that you need to be wheat-free from here on. But! The but is there are a lot of other ingredients other than wheat and corn. It might be one you of them not the wheat. I suggest you go wheat free for at least two weeks and see how you feel. Then add wheat for a week and see if you get worse. Then back to wheat free for a double check. You may be amazed at the difference. Fascinating. I'll check it out. I'll also do some more reading on the subject. Do you recommend any good low-carb books out there? Try the Southbeach diet book, and the Greenwhich diet by Dr. Colgan. IMHO both are superior to Atkins... A lot of people that do straight Atkins get constipated. You already have a problem with that so a true Atkins induction would probably be a bad idea. lol For the food intolerance portion the book to get is Doctor Atkins New Diet Revolution editions 1972, 1993, 1999 or 2002. South Beach introduces grains early and therefore does little on the food intolerance front. You could also google for "texas elimination diet" or other elimination plans. |
