Default Next Weight Loss Challenge & opinions wanted

We're just a few weeks away from the end of the NYNY, and a new
challenge will be starting up immediately after. More information on
the new challenge will be posted on the weekend!

One new aspect I'm thinking of throwing into the mix is adding an
"inches lost" aspect to the challenge (optional, of course). Right now
we're at almost 300 pounds lost as a group for the NYNY challenge, and
I'm really curious to know what this means in terms of inches. I'm also
thinking that taking measurements might help for those who experience
weight loss plateaus... I'm basically just rambling here at the moment.
I'm thinking that rather than asking people to submit their actual
measurements I'd just ask for any reduction to be reported
(chest/waist/hips ?).

Anyone have any comments, thoughts, opinions, suggestions.....???

In think inches lost as well as weight lost would be good: on those
plateau weeks/months, we would still see some progress, I'm sure. I
will try to join this one as well as the next exercise challenge, as
after the op I really want to have a good reason to stay with the
program. I can see it might be sooooo easy to slip back into the old
ways!

I think inches lost would be good--I would only report once a month though
as that's the only time I measure!!

I like the idea of reporting the number of inches lost too. I could use my
monthly Curves WI measurements for that challenge. BTW, Curves measures
their success in inches+pounds so why can we? I'm game.

wonder if you could do an inches challenge that lasted the whole year and
only measured once a month or a challenge that measured weekly but say just
the waist? Lee who still couldn't join but admires all who do

If a person wants to sign up and only list their weights and not inches,
would that still be ok?

Since there's a fair amount of comings/goings over the year I think a
year-long challenge might be difficult, but here's what I propose: If
the inches portion of the challenge works out then I'm happy to include
it in future challenges and keep a running/year long total of them.

Oh absolutely! That's why the inches part would be optional! I'll be
working on a draft website this weekend and should have something online
by Sunday.

I haven't yet as when I started I figured I would get overwhelmed if I did
that too. There is a part of me that wished I had, and a part of me that I
think would have been so horrified I would have never even started, Lee
