Are you pretty happy at where you are at now or do you want to lose more?

I'm very happy with where I am now. My goal range is 145-150, so I'm
in it. I do have in mind to get down to 145 and then allow myself a
little float within that range, particularly because I want to
continue adding muscle. But I am, in effect, at goal.

I am now generally wearing a size 10 but buying an increasing number
of 8s as well. I don't expect to get to be an 8 in everything, but it
amazes me that I can wear them at all. And many of the knit tops I
buy are now size Small (though I wear up to a Large in some brands);
I'm broad in the shoulders but from below my breasts to the start of
my hips, so some bigger tops are just too baggy in the bottom half.

I'm still getting used to being this size. Sometimes I catch a
glimpse of myself in a mirror and almost don't recognize myself. It's
very weird. I wonder how long it takes to get your self-image to
match your actual appearance?

Congratulations.

Have you heard anyone say (bitterly) that you look too skinny now?

I had a friend over for lunch yesterday. I served grilled salmon (on
the George Foreman) on salad with toasted sesame oil sprayed on as a
dressing, and a fruit salad on the side. She declined the salmon, put
bleu cheese dressing on the greens, and drank soda. (I grilled her a
chicken breast instead of the salmon, which she ate on the side.)

I realized as I was serving this perfectly normal lunch that she thought
I was serving rabbit food. She commented several times about how I look
"too thin". (I've got a 32" waist and wear a size 14, for God's sake,
this isn't hidden anorexia on my part!)

Anyway, just venting in your thread, sorry, but it's interesting to see
the mental changes still being required of us.

You have my congratulations too Chris!! Great job! :-)

Dally -- I have a strange problem that is like the opposite -- my best
friend, who has lost some weight in the last 6 months, has not
commented on my weight loss at all. She is still heavy, but obviously
down at least a couple of pant sizes.

I noticed last month that she looked great and I told her so -- I let
her know everything she was doing was obviously working for her and
that I was proud of her. I didn't get anything then, but I didn't
think much of it since I didn't feel like I had lost significant
weight. Now I'm down 25 lbs, everyone is noticing, and still nothing
from her. I thought maybe it wasn't obvious, but a co worker came up
to me today and said I am an inspiration to her because I'm shrinking
before her eyes, and I look so healthy.

I think I would take the grudging compliment (and that's what it is!)
of being too skinny over being ignored.

I was nonplussed that friends I hadn't seen in 3 months failed to
notice my 25lb loss over the interim.
Motivates me for when I see them again this Fall -- 50lbs and 20lbs
thinner than I was in 2000 oughtta be enough difference!

One of my best friends is a size 18 or 20, and she tells me this
regularly. She expressed concern that my collarbones were visible
:-).

I've had some variations on this. One SIL has always been in athletic
good shape - had a tummy tuck as soon as she was done having kids and
still wears mini-skirts in her 40's. (And can get away with it.)
Anyway, she didn't mention my weight loss until I'd lost over 50 pounds.
I think she was just staying out of it in case I regained it all. Or
maybe she didn't think going from fat to still-fat made any difference.
Whatever, it was weird, but she eventually started making a fuss. It
was all the sweeter for having been hard-earned.

Oh my God, not collarbones! Quick, get the anorexia first aid kit!

Dally (not sure, but assumes that includes chocolates)
