Default online dieters lose more weight

I received a Ediet ad that stated "A 2001 study by Brown University found
that people who diet online lose 3 times more weight in 6 months than those
who did it on their own."

I know this is the longest I've stayed actively interested- think you would
have done as well offline? you guys are great support

I dunno...if I didn't spend so much time sitting on my butt reading
this group, I'd probably get more exercise. G

I'm only half-kidding. I do look forward to reading the group every
day because I've learned everything I know about LC from people here,
links that they've provided, or from using Google Groups to read old
asdlc posts. I'd probably be doing everything wrong and not having
much, if any, success without the support I've received here.

I didn't realize that I was dieting online, though. Now you've gone
and made me feel shy!

I think she means having a support group online, rather than in person, or
none at all.

For me I see and understand that its a big help having online support. Like you
all. A big thank you for the support!
If not for the online support..I would have had a harder time, may not have
folllowed through with it this far with this WOE. I have learned alot from you
fine folks!

(P.S. I had trigger point injections, traction, PT today. Not online too much
today. Back to bed with Ice Packs)

Me too. For just the two days my internet was down I slipped big time, and
ate mashed potatoes, sloppy joes, ice cream, snacked on m&ms, and drank
whiskey instead of water.

Then the *******s came and fixed it.

I know that online journals like fitday and ediets do help, if nothing more
than keeping you aware of what you are doing. It was much easier this time
also because of the vast amount of online support and information. I never
would have dreamed of having strawberries and ricotta cheese for desert, I
would have been leery of paying double for low carb milk, if I had not heard
the reviews here or dared try a sweet cream cheese omelet.

On the other hand, too much computer helped me acquire a weight problem, so
adios for the evening.

My internet's up, but I've been working like a fiend, outdoors, for the
last three days. I'm utterly exhausted. The people who came to help
requested au gratin potatoes. Betty Crocker's au gratins are my one and
only potato weakness.

I'm planning on eating a lot of salad tomorrow.

yes.

strength comes from within, not from the group.
