Default Hello Group

I'm going to buy fresh pink grapefruit if they have it, squeeze it to
make juice and just add some to my water.
I want to drink a lot of water.
Adding a small amt of juice to it seems to help me drink the water
easier. I've been adding Noni juice, metamucil to the water so far.
Sometimes I drink it plain. I guess it takes time getting used to
drinking water.

It's hard to imagine how fruit juice could make you lose weight. It's
very calorie dense, has very little fiber, high glycemic index (the
insulin rush would put it all in fat!) and it doesn't leave you sated.

All in all, this sounds like terrible advice.

If there's some medicinal magic about grapefruit juice, I suggest you
eat a grapefruit.

What a passive voice! It won't work magically. You're going to have to
do all the work.

I appreciate your blunt honesty in your posts. But I am just curious,
when you first started this journey, were you already solidly planted in
your hardcore beliefs about the necessary changes in your WOL, or did it
develop over time?

When I first started this journey I was solidly planted in my hardcore
beliefs that I was fat for reasons utterly beyond my control and it just
wasn't fair and nothing would work. Lyle (and everyone else) called me a
Fat **** in Denial.

Here's a link to one of my first posts when I first started this round of
this journey nearly five years ago. (Ha! I just saw my original weights
were 242/242/185. I guess I gained a couple more pounds before I started
going down. And now I weigh 20 pounds less than my wildest dream weight.)

http://groups.google.com/group/alt.s...7?dmode=source

It just seems like you are screaming "wake up idiot" in all your posts.
Not that you should coddle and coax, but you sound like a drill sergeant.

Lyle's not here. Geek Girl isn't here. Queenie isn't holding up her end.
LFM would do it if I didn't, I suppose. You'll chime in if there's a
void. Because SOMEONE has to say it.

I don't have anything useful to say to the people espousing raw food. I
don't have anything helpful to say to the people who have binge-eating
compulsions. (Although I suspect the ones who actually HAVE binge-eating
compulsions are fewer in number than the people who THINK they have
bing-eating compulsions.) I get tired of listening to people whine about
why they can't do this and skip most of those posts.

But when someone says, "I'm ready to do this but I've got [some problem]
to surmount" then I'm ready to help. Because I know it can be done. I
know they can figure it out if they choose to.

But I get grumpy about wasting my time and energy on FFID who aren't ready
to change. Hmmm. Do you suppose that shows?

Don't get me wrong - I totally agree with you and believe you know your
stuff. I just know that when I first started out, someone with your
approach would have chaffed me pretty good, and I may have avoided you after
a good ass chewing. Of course I'm used to it now! Anyways, I don't think
you should change at all, really.v

and on the off chance that you are taking some medication, check to see
if it interacts with grapefruit.

http://www.vhpharmsci.com/Newsletter.../Article22.htm

looks like statins and calcium channel blockers are two that interact
with grapefruit.

Default Hello Group

it is from personal experience.
grapefruit juice contains some unknown chemicals that lowers insulin
level, forcing our body to burn fat. no 'clinical studies' has been
made.i have a huge appetite. i rely on grapefruit juice, it works for
me, might not work for u.
