Default Question about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Weight Watchers

related. Talk about depressing!

I was to immediately cut out of my diet white flour, sugar, salt and soda.
Normally, I eat 100% stoneground wheat, avoid salt because I have high blood
pressure, and drink between 5-6 liters of water per day. I drink so much
water that I should float away...however, I don't...I save everything! In
the past I've tried whole wheat pasta and had a hard time with it - I guess
I could try it again, but it's not high on my list.

What has really packed on the pounds for me is that I've recently had braces
put on (February), and resort to "soft foods" (i.e. macaroni/cheese, various
other pasta, etc.) when the monthly adjustments are made. The problem is
that I had no idea what I was eating (though it was suggested by the
dentist), was actually making me fatter. It's a good thing that all this is
happening at once - better to get everything taken care of now.

I'll know more once I actually see the GYN and go over everything in person.

PCOS. Once I was put on Glucophage, Weight Watchers worked for me just
fine. I find that I am fuller longer if I have a little protein for
breakfast, but I wouldn't say I eat low-carb. The carbs I do eat are
whole grains or high-fiber, such as whole wheat pasta and breads.

Are you talking to a good endocrinologist? Most OB/GYNs will just put
you on birth control pills, which may regulate your cycle but not do
anything about the testosterone imbalance. They didn't do a darn thing
for me.

I have PCOS and was on BC until last fall when I had a heart attack.I
was diagnosed with PCOS at 16. Not fun. I had my worst years through
high school, dont it figure. I had a full beard, yes a full beard. No
one had a clue what was going on. They ran test after test and couldnt
find anythng. I gained a 1000 pounds or so it seemed. I didn't have a
monthly cycle. I had to go each month to get a shot to start.Finally
after seeins specialist after specialist for this it was found. The
facial hair was cut off and i looked like a girl again. I still have
it but it isn't anywhere as bad as it was then. I'm very
selfconciense(sp?) about how I look and avoid cameras at all cost.
What is Glucophage?? I am going to see an endocrinologist on the 9th
at the Cleveland CLinic. I too eat nothing but wheat bread and grain
breads, no pasta, or potatoes or white rice. I've lost some weight but
not nearly what i would like to lose.

Default Question about POS WW and whole wheat pasta

I would recommend not giving up on the WW pasta. I just made sure that was
all I had in the house and started eating it. Tried overcooking it a bit,
which helped some. Now I am so used to it, it tastes good, but in the
beginning it was a real hard thing. I have found that making
more/thicker/spicier sauce helped. I add squash to most of my pasta sauces,
lean meats, mushrooms, lots of garlic, then I use a lot of sauce relative to
the pasta. Low points, filling, and you really DO get used to the taste.
Now when I eat out and get pasta it tastes kind of gluey to me.
