Default Study finds little healthy in school vending machines

I'm a product of the 80's... spent the 1980's in school. And I can
certainly say that we didn't have vending machines in elementary
school or middle school.

I spent the 80s in school too (class of '90). I changed schools every year
until high school and saw a variety of junk offerings. Elementary school wasn't
too bad (aside from buying cookies and such), but I remember one middle school
I went to had soda and frozen treat (those weird triangular frozen 'juices')
vending machines, in the locker room! Bizarre. High school just had soda, I
know because I was 130lbs and lived off Fresca out of it.

LCing since 12/01/03-
Me- 5'7" 265/202/140
& hubby- 6' 310/217/180

Even back in the '60s there was junk food in some high schools. I recall
from my high school days eating a bag of Cheetos and a Fudgesicle for lunch
quite often. I'm not sure what else they offered, there was good, hearty
cafeteria food too, which we thought was "fattening". I don't recall any
vending machines, though.
