Food Post Sept 01/04
It's september. Time to evoke the "no sugar in my temple" rule. Well, very
little refined that is. I've taken the summer off (and maintained within a lb or two) and now that the kids are nearly back in school it's time to get serious about taking the rest of this weight off. I also can't remember if I've said this before but I'm going to be posting on the day that I eat (in the evenings) so as to avoid confusion with myself. Breakfast - 1/2 cup just right 1/2 cup 1% milk 1/2 banana Lunch - 2 toast w/margarine p.b (yes I used them both) Snack - 1 Plum Dinner - Salad w/italian dressing 1 soya burger 1 piece of bread for burger Exercise - 1 mile of rollerblading!!!!!! (4 turns around a 1/4 mile track with a 10 min rest every 2) Water - working on the last of my 2ltrs. Total calories - 1046 I got to try out the women only gym I was looking at. It's a great price 149.00 for startup and we got a 100 dollar discount on the spot. Also first and last months fee to start which is 25/month. The total was 103.69 for startup. I'll be paying the 25 every month on a year contract. It hasn't got bells and whistles but MAN!!! the eliptical trainer is some fun!! It also comes with a personal trainer session every 4 weeks. I'm stoked about going. It looks like it's going to really pay off. That being said. Exercise - 1 mile of rollerblading!!!!!! (4 turns around a 1/4 mile track with a 10 min rest every 2) WTG! Rollerblading is a great exercise. I gave mine to one of the granddaughters and bought a pair of the old quad skates. My ankles couldn't take the rollerblades. Do your kids skate with you? It looks like it's going to really pay off. Great news! I'm sure it will pay off - it seems to me that if you pay for something, you stick to it because you want to get your money's worth back. That's why joining a gym is a great idea! ( wish I could join the gym again, but I live in a small town with only one gym and the hours they keep don't allow me to fit it in my schedule (like, they are open only in the evenings right now (6 to 9 pm) and I just can't fit that into my schedule because of DD - this is the time when we go for our walk or come back from the beach, and then we have a bath and nursing-to-sleep session. I called and asked, and they said they'll change the working hours in winter - they always have more costumers then - and even be open in the morning, which will work much better for me, since DH has his mornings free and can watch DD while I'm training (no, they don't have a childcare center there. It really is a *small* gym - one room for aerobics class, 1 treadmill, 3 stationary bikes, one room with the machines and free weights, 1 shower and 3 toilets, 1 trainer (the aerobic instructor, that is) - that's about it G. Men go mainly for the machines and free weights, but women go mostly for the aerobics classes, and not many of them use the "machine room" (I did both). But since the town is small too, it's the best I can get :-) Anyway, I can't wait for their working hours to change! I used to walk there (30 minutes walk), spend 15 minutes in the "machine room", then take 1 hr long aerobics class, then spend another 20-ish minutes in the "machine room" and then walk back home (30 minutes walk, this time uphill).) Good luck, do tell us how it goes!
