Default trigger foods & satiating foods

Which foods do you find most satiating? What are your trigger foods?

For me, I find a mix of protein & carbs to be the most satiating, mostly
protein with a few carbs, like breaded chicken. The breading doesn't add
that many calories. Complex carbs aren't too bad.

Trigger foods for me are red meats with a lot of fat, nuts, cake and
pastries. Also cheese, I really have to watch it with the cheese.

There's something about sitting in front of food that makes me want to eat.
Having a big bowl or plate of food on the table usually screws me up. I try
to stick with packaged foods that have a limited number of servings. Like a
6oz package of lunchmeat, 3 servings, 70 cal/serving. For me, that's a
pretty good meal, and for a big meal I'll have that with some wheat
crackers.

The least satiating foods for me are sugar foods, like candy.

Mike,

Breaded chicken (how it's cooked), lunch meats, packaged food. Sounds
like you haven't accounted much for nutrition, or spent much time in the
kitchen.

Water is the best to shut down an appetite for periods of time. Not water
alone, you can have a green bell pepper or celery or some such that lets
you chew without slapping fat calories on at meals that you describe.

Or maybe a little too much, or I wouldn't be here.

Breaded chicken = chicken breast + shake & bake. No oil in the pan. Extra 17
cals/serving for the breading. It doesn't sound bad to me. Gonna look for
whole wheat breading (what the heck).

As for sandwich meats, they're very low fat (if you select the right ones),
and almost as good a source of protein as anything else. I doubt that a
person could buy "fresh" meat from the store and prepare it in such a way
that it is 97%+ fat-free.

Packaged food? It all comes in packages, except fruits & veggies -- which I
get plenty of. I stick to small packages, or packages of things you can
count. Like crackers, 12 per serving, 170 calories, so you count 12 crackers
and add 170 calories to your count. It sure beats weighing everything out.
Home-cooked food, that's a recipe for diet disaster if you ask me. Accurate
calorie counting is my #1 goal.

I could improve the quality of my diet, sure, but it isn't that bad. Its a
hell of a lot better then it was before I started watching what I eat.
Selecting the right foods, though, that's another topic ;-) My main focus is
weight loss, and the quality of the foods I've been eating has improved.

Calorie control has gotten pretty for me, but only if I eat the right foods
in the right amounts at the right time of day. I get a lot more satisfaction
out of a piece of fruit then I do a piece of celery.

On Friday, Dilbert's supposed to get blasted with the google death ray. I
think Ziggy's looking for work, though.

What about sodium? What about nitrites? Not everyone is looking for
cheap ****ty low-fat food; some of us have other concerns.

Default trigger foods & satiating foods

Today's food is full of toxic, inadequate nutrients. 8 months ago I
weighed 312 lbs. I am 6'0 tall and 37 years old. As I have aged I
have added 15-20 lbs a year until I reached my all time high of 338. I
tried several diets and lost and gained weight. I became depressed.
My blood pressure skyrocketed. My health turned poor. I had a friend
who was concerned, just as I am concerned for your health. She put
together a series of news programs on her tivo that all were related to
the poor condition of American people. Our children are obese we are
obese etc. etc. There are even shows now on the tube like "Honey, we
are killing our kids" (I think that's what it is called)
Well to get to the point I watched these programs and decided that I
needed to help by body by putting the right fuel in it. Just like you
put the right fuel in your car and change its oil every 3000 miles, you
have to do the same for your body. I started to buy only natural foods
and organic foods. Well after three or four months my food bill was
huge. Organic food is extremely expensive. I then stumbled across a
nutritional supplement that has changed my life and that of my family.
I am no longer killing my kids with food.

http://home.bellsouth.net/p/PWP-123chickensoup

After using this particular supplement ( and there are several good
ones) I found that I no longer had to have two cheeseburgers, fries
and dessert to feel full only to eat a snack two hours later. What
happened I had the right nutrients in my body and I stopped craving
food. My body slowing started to change. In the first weeks I lost a
few pounds but felt great. Then a few more, soon I was 20 lbs lighter.
I started with one shake(I use Low fat Milk and the supplement) Then
I added the carb blocker ( Make sure you drink lots of cold water)the
weight slipped away. My wife saw this and started using the products.
We replaced our expensive fast food diet with a nutritious healthy diet
that SATISFIED us. That is the important part being satisfied. I do
not have cravings. I am happy again. I am able to play with my
children and that makes me so happy. I know its hard to believe but it
did work. Please check out the link above and see for yourself. If
you need to talk don't hesitate to call me and ask me any questions you
may have. I have seen it work. I will add that your Doctor is correct
you do need to be active, start by walking. I started by using the
surgical tubing exercise tools you can get at Wal-Mart or K-mart or
where ever.

Please don't wait. I lost my mother at age 52 to obesity and heart
failure, its never to late. By the way My blood pressure in under
control(with Medication) and my cholesterol is normal again with no
meds.

Good luck to you, and please call or write with and questions.

There is a 30 day money back offer if you don't find the supplements
helpful so you have nothing to lose but your health....

Mike be careful of the lunch meats (sammich ham and turkey etc). They ARE
low fat and low cal, but they are loaded with nitrites or nitrates (or
something like that I always forget) which is extremely cancer provoking (my
english is gone today !! ARG) That's the stuff they give to rats to give
them cancer in the labs...

Not saying not to have any, just that it's one of those things which too
much is too much.. / I still eat them myself, just not everyday.

Will~ Who luvs lunchmeats! snif

I am having a deja vu too. A lot of people, usually clueless and
stupid at the same time, sign up as "affiliates" of various crooks,
and come up with a brilliant idea of spamming usenet. A smarter person
would have realized that they are probably not the first one and would
not waste their time spamming usenet, but then, smarter people know
better than to become such affiliates.

The result is a lot of time wasted.

It's like playing the lottery, maybe they get their kick thinking about the
slim chance they have of making money. As my Mom would say about her lottery
tickets: "It's a dollar to dream for a few days"

Maybe it's the same time with spammers... they do it, dreaming to get rich,
and when it doesn't work, well, they got all that dreaming time.

Thing is though, Mom ain't annoying anybody with her lottery tickets..

Will~
