Look at the sugar-free gums and see which sugar alcohols they
contain. Then decide which, if any, you can consume.

Do they ever sell unsweetened chewing gum?

I would be greatly interested in buying some... Never felt like
chewing gum had to taste sweet...

i don't know. if i was looking for something like that, i'd try a
health food store.

There used to be, and perhaps still are, chewing gum kits. It is
possible that the flavoring was a separate packet.

Hey, I'm also a gum chewer. I chew sugar-free gum at my movie theater job,
to keep my mouth busy so I won't be tempted by the free popcorn. It's 2g
of sugar alcohol carbs per stick, and since I don't care about the flavor,
just want something to chew, I only chew one stick all day. Aside from
making my jaw ache I haven't had any ill effects.

I have only 3 flaws. My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

For those who do want a minty flavor with their gum, try adding a scosh of
mint extract from time to time. I used to use tic tacs, but if you do that
all day, you'll add significant carbs. I also use other flavors
occasionally, or a drop of those super-strong breath freshener liquids.

Here is a link to sugar free gum with xylitol at the Atkins site. It's
waaaayyy expensive, but you might be able to find it elsewhere.

good idea, I wanted to visit one anyway. My wife now wants to eat wild
salmon instead of farmed (which I think is unnecessary, but I respect
her desire), so I'll buy some wild salmon and check unsweetened chewing
gum.

let us know if you find some. i don't chew gum myself, but i'm sure
that lots of low carbers would be interested in such a thing.
