Default Special Occasions... How do you get back?

Been on Atkins for 6 weeks. Was doing well, lost about 20 lbs (265, 243,
210). Been on kinda of a plateau for a week or so... son had an ice cream
cake yesterday -- would have crushed him not to have some. Had 2 pieces
(and they were awesome). Figured I would go back to strict Induction for 3
or 4 days then back to the way I was eating.

This seem reasonable? What do others do when they *have* to cheat like
that? Think I had more carbs in that ice cream cake than I have had in 6
weeks (inclusive).

Tips?

I've been LC for about 15 months, lost about 30lbs, now within a few lbs of
my goal weight. After induction, when I was strict, I accepted the fact
that living reasonably means being flexible some of the time so, for example
when we go out to eat, (not very often, 3 or 4 times a month I'd say), or to
friends, I don't worry too much. The occasional transgression doesn't
really matter and appearing like a fanatic is just too dorky. Works for me;
might not for you.

You can do induction if you want to, or do induction-level carbs, or just do
OWL with more cardio. All have worked fine for me, but I don't do strict
induction anymore since I see no need for that.

If it was only one meal, I just go back to my usual way of eating right
after (but do aim for 20g/carb per day anyway).

If it is longer than that then it's induction for at least a week, depending
on how long I was off the wagon for.
