I think it's vastly preferable to a subject line of "question" and then
wait for the body of the post to get specific. I'd skip the "question"
post, while I looked into this thread to see what was being said.

The pronunciation has degenerated into sammich in some parts of the US
(and maybe Canada?). We used to pronounce it "samwich," changing the
nd to m, but still retaining the w, thus making it easier for lazy
tongues. But it doesn't surprise me to see it changing again to yet
an easier pronouncation to even ommit the w. It's a logical, and
lamentable progression. I suspect one day the dominant pronouncation
will be "sammich."
