To keep track of your daily carbs, put them on paper, what ever you eat, mark it down, set a number of carbs u want in a
day and keep it at that number i am doing 30 carbs a day, and whatever i eat, i mark down.

I am not too new to the LC diet, but have never kept a written record of the
carbs I eat either. What methods do people use to keep on track with their
LC diet?

Thanks in advance for your help and ideas!

I bought the Atkins journal and that has really helped. I draw a line
down the middle of each page and put my foods eaten on one side and my
husband's on the other. There is a column on the side to put carb
totals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and beverages. Just add
to get total carbs per day. There's also a place to record daily
supplements, water intake, exercise, and notes. each week there is a
page to record weight, body measurements, notes, etc. and rate
yourself for the week on sticking to the diet, exercising regularly,
etc. There is a graph in the back to graph weight loss. I also
calculate average carbs per week as a kind of summary of how we are
doing. The journal has pages for one year and a carb counter in the
back. I don't think we would have stayed on it this long without the
journal.

Thanks again for all the info passed along! I have downloaded both
programs, and will use them regularly! I am glad to have found such a
supportive group!!! Some other groups news groups (fitness / photo) I am on
are not this great...some real cutthroat people out there. I will check in
everyday for ideas and support.

Many people here will tell you to go to fitday.com, which is a good
resource. I prefer software to web-based programs, however. I have
used Weight Commander for years (http://www.weightcommander.com), a very
inexpensive but wonderful piece of software for tracking fat, calories,
carbs, and even blood glucose readings. It has a diary section, too.
Michael Marder, its creator, sells it for $9.95 on the honor system.
Great guy.
