Priscilla,

Martin, why did you stay so low for so long? That might be part of the
problem.

I experimented with zero carbs, 20g per day and 60g/day
None of these worked in any noticable fashion.

How exactly did you fit any wheat/gluten into 20 grams carb/day?

I didn't, of course - I was just making the point that I was now gluten and
dairy free
and that maybe it was a food intolerance issus as much as anything else.

I still can't lose weight if I introduce carbs.

Cheers
Martin

You said it didn't work at zero carbs either, so you're saying you can't
lose weight no matter what you do with carbs.

How close are you to a healthy weight? If you are very close, then you
will lose slowly and you may have to limit calories too.

Do you exercise?

Do you take measurements?

How long did you stick with zero, 20g, and 60g before changing your level?

I have only 3 flaws. My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

Yes - within a range of 2000 cals a day.

I'm 42 pounds over my goal of 168.

Do you exercise?

Went to the gym most days during my experiment

No - I'll start I think

I did 3 consecutive months of each.

I do admit to a thyroid problem which is now sorted.......

I'm just making the point that by dropping dairy I started to lose when all
else seemed to fail.
Irrespective of carbs.....

Thought it might help folks who are stuck like I was.

It sucks when you can hardly even trust what pretty much should be a base
ingredient, though. Sugar in table salt took the prize for me... who
would have thought you have to actually *check* salt ingredients?

Good grief! I'll go and check.... nope, pure NaCl, whew : )

No iodine? Surprizing.

Note that "light salt", which has KaCl, often has a tiny amount of
sweetener to offset the extra bitterness the KaCl adds, to bring the
total taste in line with plain salt.
