Default hydrogenated vegetable protein

My favorite sausages have hydrogenated vegetable protein (maize) listed as
an ingredient. I am well aware of the dangers of hydrogenated oils and I was
curious if the same dangers were present with hydrogenated vegetable
proteins as well.
thanks
Stevo

The hydrolyzed vegetable proteins can cause a problem for dieters--they
contain naturally occurring MSG which causes increased appetite. In one of
the Carbohydrate Addicts books the Hellers write that lab scientists
routinely put MSG in feed when they want animals to gain weight.
