Default Matty's Monthly Update

Well, here I am with another monthly update on my road to a slimmer me! I really do appreciate all of you wanting to keep track of my progress. I actually think of you when it comes to making tough decisions about food choices because I don't want to let any one of you down!

This past month has been good, I've been averaging 2015cal/day which is where I want to be at this point in time. My mom came up from Texas a couple of weeks ago for a visit. It was the first time she was able to see her grandson in living color and the two hit it off like gangbusters! We had a good visit, I was even able to visit a couple of buffet-type restaurants and keep my calories in check! I hadn't been to a buffet restaurant since going on the diet and have been very afraid to go to one. Call it a mini-goal!

My Sister-in-law Michelle gave me information on doing stretching and toning exercises which I need to start doing. It seemed this past month there have been too much going on from my mom visiting to fixing up the exterior of our house, there never seems to be enough hours in the day. But I need to make that commitment and start the stretching exercises... (need prayers to help me start and focus on doing the exercises)

I have no idea what I have been doing different but today I stepped on the scale and found that a whopping 18.4lbs have been lost! I don't understand it but the nurse zeroed out the scale and everything so the scale was right. That brings me to my other news: my mini-goal for this month has been achieved! I set a mini-goal to break the 400lb barrier and have smashed it all to pieces! I now weigh in at 393.8lbs! My next goal is to break 100lbs lost by September, that one will be a reachable goal if I keep my weighloss at around 3-3.5lbs/week.

Thank you all for your notes of encouragement!

That works both ways, Matty. I see how well you're doing and it keeps me motivated to stick with my woe/wol.

Give yourself a pat on the back. Buffet restaurants can be very tough for people. It's taken me quite awhile but I normally do just fine at them. I do have the occasional slip and have a little too much dessert.

If you find yourself putting them off because you don't feel you have enough time just start with small increments of time. I don't think there's any law that says you must exercise 30 minutues straight. You can do it 5-10 minutes a few times a day.

As my granddaughters would say "You rock, Matty". Wow...you did blow right past the 400lb mark. Congratulations and I look forward to seeing that 100lb goal broken soon.

"Your" progress, not "you're". I hate it when I do that.

Maybe I shouldn't point out the "inpsiring". Oops, too late ;-) I hope to
be inpsiring someone myself someday . . .

Ahhh! It never fails. I should really use the spellchecker from now on.

Those numbers look pretty 'inpsiring' to me!
