(Jumpin' Jack Flash) wrote in message om... Another question for you guys: what happens if you get out of ketosis for a day on your induction? Say if you drink beer or something...? Is that a big setback or easily corrected by another couple of days? Perhaps if you can't go without a beer for 2 weeks of induction, you should be in another support group. |

Actually, it is quite possible to drink alcohol on a very low carb diet (I don't know about "Atkins" per se) and lose weight. Just be aware that alcohol does have 7 calories per gram. I normally make drinks from vodka and some artificially sweetened mixer such as Crystal Light, or rum and diet Coke, but there are several low carb beers and malt liquor drinks available. For beer, I like Aspen Edge or Rolling Rock's Green Light. Avoid Michelobe Ultra - it has no flavor. For malt beverages try Thin Ice or MIke's Light Lemonade. |

Sure it's possible, but the question was how it affects you when on induction. Anyone that can't go without alcohol for a minimum of two weeks on induction is either a troll or has a drinking problem. |
