I am eating about 30 net carbs daily, walk 2.5 miles 6xWk, and am staying at the same weight. should I drop back to 20 net carbs/day, or increase exercise? or both? I've been on this for a year and am at a plateau after losing 40lbs. I have 10 more to go to be in the top end of the 'healthy' range for my height. thnaks! See if there is a fitness center or clinic in the area that can do a BMI measurement via underwater weighing. You may be just fine where you are and a victim of the standard BMI charts. This is also called 'hydrostatic weighing'. If you take up weight training as some others suggest (a good suggestion, of course), it is possible that you will lose fat without losing weight, all the more reason to get an accurate BMI. I plan to go get one done soon since I think I may have set my goal weight too low. With supposedly 20 lbs to go, it's hard for me to see where else it can come off. I think it's time for you to do something else (or something in addition to walking) in the way of exercise. Trying something new will get you interested again, use different muscles, and may invigorate you. Pat in TX |
