We arent at that point yet. I still have some cartiledge. Losing the
weight will help it. We just dont know at what point it will subside.
So, in the mean time he is working with me to tame it down.
Thanks, Laureen

If your knee is so painful has the Dr.talked to you about a possible

knee
replacement? That would get rid of the pain once and for all.

They are falling off! I'm in clothes already I havent worn for a long
time like 3x and 26/28, some 24's instead of 4X and 30/32. I am using
some of the 4X shirts as nightshirts now. I have a bag full of clothes
to take to the WLS support group in town here next tuesady. The good
stuff is going on Ebay. Im also throwing Roamans and Lane Bryant
catalogs away already. I am saving my biggest shirt though to show off
"that was then this is now" LOL!!!!

Congratulations on the amazing weightloss.
Sorry to hear you have pain.

I have a running battle with some folks that believe in the myth of
"starvation mode." According to their beliefs your weightloss efforts
should be terribly stalled due to insufficient calories. Your amazing 50
pounds lost in 5 weeks is a dose of reality.

Starvation mode doesn't happen until your body lacks in readily available
fuel systems, which Laureen's does not (yet!). Once you get quite thin, it
gets MUCH harder to lose weight, despite caloric reductions because as you
lose bodyfat there are significant hormonal changes that occur in the body.
Fat cells are not neutral, they are an active part of the endocrine system.
Anyway I'm not interested in an argument, so I won't respond to anything
else on this topic, but I'm just suggesting that you might want to Google a
bit more...

Peace,
Pen

yeah the stalls are coming. I dont have unrealistic expectations. We
all stall at times. Im more inclined to due to the restricted caloric
intake and due to the rapid weightloss. First off my body will want to
hold on to the fat says " Hey! Where's the rest of the food you used to
eat, you must be straving, we'll save the fat for you" Then it will say
" WHOA, we need to slow down here and redistribute" I'm ok with that. I
will take what ever I can get. Thank you for the nice words!!!
