Way to go Bean, glad you are enjoying that machinery! I think 9 pounds in 2
months is fantastic. I look at it as *it's 9 pounds more than I would have lost
last year*. Be proud of yourself, we are!

Thanks, Joyce. I actually JOGGED for 10 minutes tonight at 3.0 mph and a
slight incline. Yes, I was exhausted, but I felt so powerful. Thank you for
all your encouragement.

Wow, that is terrific! I won't and don't plan on doing any jogging - is a knee
thing, and I'm not into pain. But ... I walk at 4mph, and with my short little
legs that is dang near a jog anyway. G I just purchased a polar heart monitor,
have it all set up and ready to go for tomorrow morning. It will be interesting
to see how the results from this compare to the standard lcd results on the
treadmill itself. I love gadgets. G

And if I'm feeling REALLY energetic (probably not - lol) I might just sneak a trip
on hubs new recumbant bike. G

I've seen those recumbent bikes at the gym, but have never been on one. Are
they painful?

I have to jump in here. I have 2 exercise bikes - one old style (and
OLD), and one recumbent. I love the recumbent. It definitely works
different areas than the standard type, because I do notice that there's
a difference in the way that muscles feel the next day. My mother (who
has arthritis) cannot use the standard bike but can use the recumbent
bike.

I have the recumbent stationed close to the TV, so I just move it into
place when I want to use it and watch TV while biking. Works great.
Ours is the cheap version that we bought at Walmart.

Supposedly they are supposed to be easier on the knees, and hub swears they are
(he has had knee surgery in the past). The only difference I have noticed is
there seems to be more support for the back, and you are sitting lower than on the
older versioned exercycles. I didn't get to try it out today, he beat me to it.
G I hit the treadmill this morning ... then he begged me (nicely) to join him
this afternoon ... so another treadmill session for me.

My recumbent bike is very easy to ride, but I have been using it for years.
I remember when I first got it 5 minutes was a job.
