Thank you. I really feel like I have the concept of moderation working on
my side this time around. This group really helps more than anything else
for me.

Hi everyone,

This week finds me 2 pounds lighter.

Yesterday I went to a Tastefully Simple party. There were samples of

each
of the products that were for sale. I'm not sure what the calorie count
was, but it didn't much matter to me because I wasn't hungry for the

rest
of
the day. Friday we went shopping at Trader Joe's. Today I spent the

entire
day chasing down bowls that I could put in the broiler because I wanted

to
make French Onion soup (Williams Sonoma for under $3 each!!) and I also

came
up with an interesting Devilled Crab Salad recipe that is pretty decent

in
points and quite filling and tasty. In short, it's been a food filled
weekend.

Today's warm weather inspired me to go to Galyan's (sporting good

store).
I
picked up some goggles and a kickboard for the pool. I haven't decided

when
I'll start yet, but I'm making steps. I also parked far away in the

lots
today because the weather was gorgeous (56 F according to my car).

I'm sure I can do it. When I started WW a year ago I lost 35 lbs and it
seemed so easy. I just can't figure out why all the difficulty since
Christmas. All the stress from DH being sick last summer must have caught
up to me or something!

Stress has a way of doing that. I know stress of a few years caught up to
me and I was burned out completely. I'm becoming less of a stress puppy,
but it's a hard thing to get over.

Do you think so? I would have thought that I'd have been under more stress
when he was in ICU on life support. I really didn't expect that it would
hit me 8 months later.

I know that stress can do some terrible things to a person, but I never
thought I'd be affected by it. I suppose we all think we're invincible at
times, when we're really not.

Think post-traumatic stress. It's like an earthquake followed by the
aftershocks. Or the second and third and fourth waves of grief that
come on the anniversary of a death. Or the nightmares that war
veterans can have for years after coming home. The initial
trauma/stress you experienced (and overlooked because all effort was
focused on your husband's trauma and recovery) may still be working
its way through your system.
