I've always liked water, so don't find it a struggle to drink it. (However, I should probably drink less Diet Pepsi, and if so I'd undoubtedly drink more water :-).) Some people swear that drinking loads of water helps with weight loss. I drank loads of it at first because I figured I'd try anything to help lose the weight. When I first started, I pretty much hated water, now it's my preferred beverage most of the time. Now, I drink when I'm thirsty, though I'll make a conscious effort to drink even if I don't feel the urge, before a hard work out or during a long bike ride. |

I've seen and experienced the effects of not drinking enough liquids during a long bike ride - it's not fun. I always aim for around 16oz for every hour I'm riding. |
