My 3 week experiment with Atkins
doug just like someone who is emotionally attached to say, chocolate, and
that is a trigger food, you must look at the food list, points or otherwise and you must just eliminate those things that are issues for you, chocolate doesn't bother me at all, DH eats it regularliy and i rarely even am interested let alone eat any, now shove a weet roll in my face and we will rumble till i have it and i mean yours too, Lee "douglerner" wrote in message ... Maybe if you let yourself eat bananas, and pumpkin, and grains, the fatty stuff won't be calling your name so much. The fatty stuff isn't calling my name so much as they satisfy in a way that stops cravings. Bananas, for example, are only about 80 calories each (don't know how many Flex points they are). The problem with the Filling Foods list though it doesn't take into account that bananas have a very high glycemic index. So while a banana or two aren't bad for a diet, for a person with high blood sugar it means the sudden introduction of so much sugar in a short amount of time releases a lot of insulin and then sparks cravings for other foods. In other words, for people in the situation I'm in, bananas aren't so much filling and satisfying as they are appetite triggers. All I'm saying is that the WW list doesn't distinguish well between high glycemic trigger foods and foods that aren't trigger foods. And I'm also saying that "one size doesn't fit all." Different people have different trigger foods. doug |

I only look at my weight in pounds if I am feeling masochistic. Seriously though, if you're tracking ANYWAY, it's actually fun to track both. You get to celebrate many more milestones, like: * lost 5 kg * lost 10 lb * got under 120 kg * got under 250 lb And you even get multiple major milestones like getting under 100 kg and getting under 200 lb. I highly recommend tracking both just for the fun of it. My WW scale is set on kg though. doug |

My 3 week experiment with Atkins
My 22 day experiment with Atkins has now gone on for 28 days and I
don't know why I persist because my weight hasn't budged at all. I basically need to just get back to tracking calories/points again. It's the only way for me to lose weight. I guess at least at the moment my appetite and blood sugar are under control which is a good thing. But I really have to lose weight (again). sigh... doug |
