What's the nicest thing people have said to your about your weight loss?
Maybe we should put some of these up on our refrigerators, but what is
are some of the nicest things that people have said to you about your weight loss? One of my children's teachers told me once, you should be in a "before and after" weight loss article. (That was after I lost 60 pounds.) What's the very nicest (or several nicest) comments that people have made to you? Yours truly, Caleb |

My ex-trainer ("ex" because he was promoted to head of personal training in the company and moved to headquarters in Minneapolis, but we're still very close friends), who was featured in the article with me, requested as his main Christmas gift from his wife that she have a framed copy made for his office (where I have seen it prominently displayed). He said it was like a certificate of achievement for him, and the thing he was proudest of from his time as a trainer. That still makes me so happy that I almost tear up thinking about it. This might sound weird, but the first year I was working for WW, a lady saw
my before picture, got angry and walked out. She did NOT believe that it was me and thought I was trying to con her.. That was the best ego boosting rejection I ever got in my life! I'm sure, too, that if things don't go as well as you would like in the course of a day, a week, just remembering that event gives you a nice warm internal glow. Super! Yours truly, Caleb |

Kind of like that Groucho Marx story of the guy having an affair when his wife comes home and she rightfully is incredibly angry with him, and he denies what's going on, even as the other woman slips out of the house. And the guy keeps denying he's having an affair, and finally he says to his wife, "Who are you going to believe? Me or your lying eyes?" This woman should have believed her eyes and realized that if you can do it, then she could do it as well, if she does it effectively. Cute ego-raising story! Yours truly, Caleb |

Yours truly, I've had a number of compliments since I have lost so much weight, but the one that stroked my ego the most was when someone said "You are getting too thin!" I'm not, of course--it's just that it is easier to disguise my "problem areas" not that I don't have so many of them grin The most touching thing was the note from my mom when I went down at Christmas to visit. My family does not express themselves openly on quite a number of issues including the topic of weight--obesity does run in the family. So my mom didn't really say anything, but when I left there was a note from her saying "You really do look good." I can't tell you haw good that made me feel. |

Teachrmama -- sounds like a very loving family, if not sometimes a very expressive one. Good for her! And you can imagine her thinking and worrying about what exactly to say. YOU DID GOOD!!! She said that I still look like I'm going strong and that she was thrilled to see I had kept off so much weight. We used to work out at Curves together and reminisced about the know-it-alls who were so sure I was not going to be able to be successful in the long run. -- the volleyballchick |
