Food and exercise - 18 August 2004
Food:
08.30 1 banana 12.45 Instant noodles with egg and tomato; 2 slices of wholemeal bread made into a sandwich with Camembert cheese (N.B. this was a crap lunch, and I regretted eating it! I really didn't need the sandwich *and* the noodles. Still, it kept me full until supper.) 20.15 Fish stew and home-made noodles - the stew was made from cod, calamari, tomatoes, sweetcorn and flageolet beans, white wine (a mistake, as it turned out, it would have been nicer without) and a teaspoon of "rouille", a French fish-and-garlic mayonnaise. The noodles were made from 1 cup wholemeal flour, 1 egg and 2 tablespoons cold water (for 2 people). This was not what I had planned for supper; it had been going to be butternut squash risotto, but I found, when I got that far, that I had no risotto rice left! 1 organic apricot yogurt 22.00 1 nectarine Exercise: Ice-skating 08.30-10.00, including 30 minutes' lesson. Steps: 4162, but I kept my pedometer on while on the ice, and I'm not sure how well it registered that. I won't do that again. -- Annabel - "Mrs Redboots" 90/88/80kg |

B.F - 1/2 cup cinnamon life
1/2 cup 1% milk Lunch - (at a family friends house, she's 89) 1/2 an italian bun w/margarine 1/2 bear paw cookie 1/12th of a small caramel coffee cake Tea Dinner - 1 veal cutlett (breaded, baked) - 1/2 cup brown rice - 10 slices of cucumber dipped in french dressing Snack - (playing scrabble at a friend's) Handful of mixed nuts Exercise - nothing substantial. An approx. walk of 15 minutes to the grocery store and back (total 1/2 hr) for the 89yr old friend Water - 4 ltrs Total calories - 1246 I accepted the cake so as not to offend. I did notice that it affected me almost immediately. My heart began to race a little quicker, my head felt lighter. Both signs of the fact that it had too much sugar for me. I did eat it slowly, taking 15 minutes to eat a piece the size of 3oz of cheese (1x2in). I also drank plenty of water after as that seems to dilute the sugar somewhat. Once again I'm seriously missing veggies. That's partly due to being away from the house as well as groceries need to be done here!!! As of yesterday we are all out of cereal and we have no fruits in the house and the only veggies are green peppers and cucumbers (grown in my sister's FIL's garden). I have also aquired a guess pass at a nearby women's gym that I plan to join come september. This way I can find out specifics on join up costs and user fees as well as see the shape of the equipment. I'm excited about that!!! -- Cp 267/229/150 "You don't want to lose what you've worked for" |
