Default Put 3 kgs after marriage.

Hi Friends,

I am a 30 year old, I got married this feb. I put on 3 kgs after that.
But I have infact reduced my diet.

What normally happens after marriage. What I need to be careful about?

You have either increased the amount of food that you eat or decreased the
amount of exercise you get. I hope it is the former -- congrats on your new
marriage.

(Or maybe you're pregnant!)

Yes, I am not exercising. I am a man! But, I have certainly reduced my
diet.

What's generally advised? Am I going in the right direction reducing
my diet?

No. If you were going in the right direction, would you be losing weight? I
would suggest that you start taking a walk every night, and watching what
you eat a little better. Cutting one desert out of your daily eating --
truly cutting it out and not replacing it with other food somewhere else --
can go a long way.

You say that you are eating less, but I doubt that is true. The additional
weight comes from somewhere. If you keep gaining weight, then you will have
to start counting every calorie you eat.

Also, I doubt that you are pregnant.

If your abs are perfect then what are you complaining about and why
are you here?

You ask what changes with marriage that caused you to gain 3kg. Here
are a few ideas.
1. you are comfortable with a steady relationship therefore you are
letting your guard down and allowing yourself to consume more food and
have less exercise.
2. You aren't concerned about keeping up a fit appearance to attract
women because you have one.
3. you are married - therefore you don't get sex as often as you did
when you were courting your wife. you are getting less exercise
4. your new wife is a great cook and she is feeding you well.
5. your new wife is a horrible cook forcing you to sneak junk food
between meals when she isn't looking
6. your new wife is secretly trying to fatten you up so that other
women won't be attracted to you
7. ffid

Bottom line - weight gain is due to consumption of food being greater
than calories burned. You either need to eat less, or exercise more
(better yet, a combination of both) in order to lose weight.

Well, em was telling me that i could be pregnant, I first said I am a
man. But, then to she insisted to check if I was pregnant. :-))))

Hmm, yes certainly I am contented and am not that careful I was
before. This is a point I should be thinking about.

2. You aren't concerned about keeping up a fit appearance to attract
women because you have one.

Exactly.

3. you are married - therefore you don't get sex as often as you did
when you were courting your wife. you are getting less exercise

Well, it is the otherway. In India we do not have sex before marriage.
I never had it.

4. your new wife is a great cook and she is feeding you well.

Yes she is...

5. your new wife is a horrible cook forcing you to sneak junk food
between meals when she isn't looking

No, she is very careful.

6. your new wife is secretly trying to fatten you up so that other
women won't be attracted to you

This I never thought about.....!!!! i need to consider that....

7. ffid

I did not understand this one for sure...

I have reduced my food, and I have surely become a lot lazier. I need
to soon.... consider myself doing exercises regularly.

OK, I take it from your responses that you are.
A. India, therefore
B. English is not your first language, which
C. May lead to some miscommunication due to the minor language barrier.
With this in mind you can disregard my ffid comment.

I think your english is very good, and you appear to be a very intelligent
individual.

Bottom line for weight gain comes down to basic physics. Your body burns
only so many calories per day. The more you exercise, the more calories
your body burns. But if you take in (eat, consume) more calories than your
body expends in a day, then you will gain weight. This has obviously been
happening.

To remedy the situation you need to eat less than your body needs. Create
a calorie deficit and you will lose weight. If you have already reduced
your food, then you need to reduce it more. And exercise will also
benefit. Exercise will not only help you lose weight, but it has other
health benefits too. Enjoy.

I will be surely keeping a note of the food I am consuming every day.
I will also keep a watch at my weight. I will I should consider buying
a weight scale to keep at home. That should do a lot good.

Are there any other suggestions I should consider.
