Default diet advice?

Hi everyone! I'm new here, but was wondering whether anyone had any
good advice for me. I've tried everything to lose weight - exercise,
trying to eat 'right' - etc, but nothing has worked for me. I don't
know what to do.

Friends are telling me to try diet pills, especially this new Alli
drug everyone keeps talking about, but I just don't know...

Any ideas on where I could find some good diet pill info? I have
checked out this site, and it has pretty good stuff on
diet pills and weight loss - http://dietpilldictionary.com but I
would also like some others. Thoughts? Thanx!

No ideas here on diet pills, but could you eat healthy, and eat less
food? I have always eaten a healthy diet, just too much of it. When
I cut back on the quantity, and added exercise, it worked. I learned
this through weigh****chers.

What was eating 'right'? Some folks starve themselves in an attempt to
eat 'right', but that doesn't work so well long term. Been there, done
that. Other folks think 'right' is whatever the latest current fad
diet is.

How consistently did you eat 'right'? Did you chuck the 'wrong' stuff
out of your house, or was it left around to tempt you?

What sort of exercise? Your body will adapt to an exercise and burn
fewer calories after a while. Were you changing up your routines?
Doing intervals, doing weight training?

Well, listen to yourself... you aren't sounding sure about this and I
think you are right to be skeptical.

Something to think about. Do you want to be on diet pills the rest of
your life? Is that a healthy way to live?

You see, if you don't change the eating habits that got you
overweight, you WILL have to use the pills for life to stay slim even
if you do lose weight on them.

Otherwise, keep the old eating habits, stop the pills, gain the weight
back... and perhaps more.

Hi Ron,

The only way to lose weight, that I know of, is to eat less calories then
you burn every day. Every day. (Well, almost every day. The occasional
cheat, if its moderate and doesn't turn into a three-day pig-out, is ok.)

Here's a site that will give you a rough idea of how many calories you eat
each day:

http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/blcalcalc.htm

A pound of fat is like 3500 calories. So, if you want to lose two pounds a
week, you need to knock eat a thousand calories per day off of what this
calculator says you burn.

What is your current weight and what is your goal?

Alli gives you a leaky butt and greasy watery uncontrollable diarrhea. It
also prevents the body from absorbing important fat-soluble vitamins. It's
expensive, and only blocks about 25% of the fat you eat. So if you eat
about 100g of fat per day, it will block about 25g which is less than 250
calories.

Most diet pills make you jittery and only have a marginal effect on weight
loss. Many of them have health risks.

The bottom line is, you have to eat less calories than you burn. You can
achieve that by
1. eating less
2. exercising more
3. some combination of the above

Yes, it really is that simple. No, it isn't easy, but it isn't complicated.
You are going to have to retrain your brain and your mouth to shop and eat
more healthily, and you are going to have to start moving that body of your
around. That's all there is to it. Sorry, no pill is going to change the
facts.

My thoughts are that your pathetic attempt to draw people to your
website is more transparent than the interstellar void.

You should eat less food. There is no way to lose weight other than
eating less calories than you spend on your activities.
