It can reduce fatness even though the diet is not low fat. You still
need to count calories though. It may not be the healthiest diet out
there because of the higher fat and cholesterol. I eat a low fat,
vegetarian diet which I think is a lot healthier. I also count
calories. dkw

Any diet that's been popular works. The questions become:

What percentage of the population does it work easily for?
Atkins works for a lot of people if you actually follow the
directions as written in the book. Do you have the book
and are you planning on following the directions not
picking and chosing among bits of what it says? Folks
who wrote books spent decades working out the
non-obvious details. Do you plan on keeping it off? Any
good plan must have a maintenance phase and sure enough
Atkins does have a maintenance phase.
