I just wanted to post my thought. I lost 71 pounds thanks to his
teachings and I feel sad that I will never be able to thank him.

If you bought his book, you thanked his wallet.

Irregardless Dr Atkins has helped many people. Why should he not of
benefited from what he did? I for one don't like to spend a life time doing
work and not get paid for it. I dont see any other high profile person who
works with helping people lose weight to turn down any monetary benefits.
Even the YMCA takes your money.

Man.. What motivates someone who is obviously not interested in a low
carb lifestyle to post on a newsgroup dedicated to it?

Are you just bored?

Why not get a hobby, or if you really enjoy usenet so much, post on a
newsgroup that talks about something you ARE interested in? I just
don't get it.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, I'm just curious about your
though process...

I'm interested. Google me if you doubt that.

Why don't you go bug the Hulda Clark groupies for a while?
People are *dying* over her bogus "Cure for All Diseases" book.

Irregardless is not a word. Regardless *is* a word. It means "without
regard to." That is the word you want. Sorry -- it's a very common
mistake, and it's just a pet peeve of mine.

Excellent points all! He helped a lot of people, and I am glad he got paid
for it.

heh

Does the American "get off of the horse" thing bug you too?

What's with the extra 'of' that keeps appearing? Especially in a country
that has done away with extra vowels in words like 'neighbour' and 'colour.'

Even more annoying is that it's starting to trickle through to this country
as well (along with 'nucular' and 'mischeevious' and, dare I say it,
'aluminum' which I'm sure will cause some dissent)
