Default My 2 year atkinsversary!

Hello everyone..
I am so proud of myself..and so happy that I decided to pick up that book at
B&N 2 years ago..
I started at 229..wearing tight 20/22 and 22/24 tops..and can currently wear
anywhere from a 7 Juniors pants down to size 2/4 in women's jeans and size
petite small and medium juniors tops..
I have lost 103 pounds and over 60 inches off of my body..
I eat about 50-60 carbs per day maintaining..and do allow some days where I
eat off plan in moderation that is..I can do that now, instead of 4 servings
I can have 2 TBS. and walk away..or even a half slice of cake on occasion..
I now eat LC bread and even oatmeal some mornings and wheat puff cereal with
real milk on occasion as well..
I still weigh in everyday..in case the scale creeps up..and then I go back
to basics and drop the extras..the most I have re-gained is like 4 pounds..I
have been maintaining for about 7 months now and sometimes I even drop a few
pounds lower..

The new me loves life even more if that's even possible..
The attention is overwhelming sometimes and I am slowly getting used to
"skinny" me..It's funny how I thought before I wasn't really fat, and had to
get real with myself..I was blessed with a great support system of family
and friends and the willpower and determination to keep on going..even in
the beginning when I thought, "will this weight ever come off"...

Advice, try to be real and stay on plan..drink you water, perservere and
have LOTS of patience..it takes time..it took me 17 months to lose this
weight..

There are some great people here..I love you all..
and wish everyone continued success. I know I don't post much anymore..I do
read posts and lurk daily..
I am a working woman now and time is sparse..
It does work, I'm living proof!!
Again thanks for letting me share!

Wow, Ruth - Congratulations! You look wonderful! I am so happy for you.
I have some questions for you:

Did you ever see a physician during your weight loss and what does he say
about your remarkable success? Did he support your WOE?

Did you ever have 'extended' periods of no weight loss? More than 6 weeks?

What did you eat for desserts instead of SF jello. Did you ever eat the
low carb chocolates?

Did you follow induction longer than 2 weeks, and if so, how long?

I see you got a lot of support from lowcarb freinds. Did you follow many of
the recipies from that board?

I am just amazed at your success. What kind of exercise do you do?

"Butternut_Jo" I have some questions for you:

Did you ever see a physician during your weight loss and what does he say
about your remarkable success? Did he support your WOE? **Actually, my

Dr. did NOT like this diet (stopped going there after I was berated, but
would love to go back to rub it in), the only ones who were supportive were
my gyn and urologist..and currently I have no health insurance, so as soon
as I get some it should be soon, I'll be going in for a whole work-up..with
DH's Dr. who is a nice lady..

Did you ever have 'extended' periods of no weight loss? More than 6

weeks? ** towards the end, at about 142 I stalled for over 2 months, kept
bouncing with the same few pounds and then finally it did drop..

What did you eat for desserts instead of SF jello. Did you ever eat the
low carb chocolates?**yes, I've eaten the SF choc, but it doesn't like

me..I also like to eat ricotta with heavy cream, vanilla, splenda and
whipped cream..it's awesome!

Did you follow induction longer than 2 weeks, and if so, how long?**I

think it was maybe 3-4 months, and I have gone back on occasion when the
scale creeps up, which isn't often..

I see you got a lot of support from lowcarb freinds. Did you follow many

of
the recipies from that board?*honestly, I like the recipes, but am not a

big cook, I just like it simple..

I am just amazed at your success. What kind of exercise do you do? ** as

I said in a previous post, I haven't exercised much, that which I don't
condone and am not proud of..I hope to get my behind in gear and get
something going over the winter..

Thanks for the kinds words!
Ruth
