Emergency picnic lunch + snacks
I just joined online (found out later that there is a meeting in my area
but can't go till after Thanksgiving!) In the meantime, I am going on a field trip tomorrow (we hunt fossils) and am trying to come up with a "core" goodie bag to take along. My usual is a peanut butter sandwich on wholewheat. It also has to be finger food...added prob is braces on my teeth, so carrots and things I have to bite into are out. I tried using slices with mixed success. help |

Or wholewheat bread still but with low fat cheese or reduced fat humous. Or tuna sandwich (no mayonaise). Cottage cheese and corn? Bunch of grapes maybe for pudding? Rachael |

glad you joined, make boiled eggs and peel in advance, core and finger food,
or make egg salad with boiled eggs, ff mayo and shredded ff cheese, put in a baggie and take a plastic spoon, you could portion it out so you would know how much you are eating. salsa and ff cheese mixed, carrots steamed cook chicken breast and cut into strips to dip in salsa if you can get them cut right. and if you go get that very thin deli roast beef that is core you could put the egg salad inside that and roll it up to make it core food without bread, or wrap the egg salad in a lettuce leaf, tomato, eat like an apple, have a great time, Lee Nancy C Kenfield wrote in message .. . I run "dry" from time-to-time and end up throwing one of those prefab chicken salad things in my backpack then I get hungry again in about 30 minutes because it's really not very much to eat. AND very salty. We have a great barbecue place here that uses leaner cuts and you can buy it by the pound with the sauce on the side, so I am trying to keep some of that in the fridge, as well as those Healthy Choice lean cold cuts packages. |
