Default Goal Reached! Onto the Plateau!

After about four weeks of following my eating and gym regimen, I
managed (somehow) to lose somewhere between 3-5lbs. (Weight fluctuates
everyday, so I am not going to say anything that is static.) Yipee! The
balance at the gym has been at 135lbs for the last two days, although
it sometimes reads 137lbs on my more bloated days.

Now that I've reached my goal, I want to invest some of my interest in
breaking the plateau. I've never been healthily below 135lbs and would
like to reduce some fat that may still be lingering on my torso. I do
not want to be too prudent in regard to what I eat (because I don't eat
as much as is, about 1300-1500/cals a day), and I'm not willing to
increase the amount of exercise I do (5 days a week cardio, which
equals about 4 miles of 8.30 minute runs a day, and 4 days of
weightlifting, focusing on different muscle groups each day), so I'm
not sure how to go about breaking the plateau.

I don't think I would have been able to do it without this group.

Despite my body type --straight, boyish-- I am, indeed, a girl!

Smart move getting control of your weight before it was out of control.

To help with your changes you would like to make with your body try
decreasing cardio and weight training by just on day each and adding pilates
for those 2 days. I have the "Winsor Pilaties" series on vhs and do them in
my home. My main exercising is walking, swimming, or curves but on cold rainy
days when I'm stuck in the house I like to do Leslie Sanso 3 mile walk and
the beginners Winsor Pilates.

Pilates is designed to actually change the shape of your body not beef it up.

Lori,

Thanks for your tip. I don't really believe in that claim that pilates
"changes the shape of your body." In fact, I like weight lifting
because I feel stronger. I don't think I will ever "beef up," and if I
do, I wouldn't mind it.

I do pilates once a week (and yoga once a week) to keep my exercise
routines interesting. This is, of course, on top of my regular
regiment.

Are you referring to the law of diminishing returns?
