Default Fruit Snacks/Jelly Beans

Anyone seen these? I've already thrown them away now, so I'm not sure of
the brand, but I bought them in a GNC store or some other big nutrition
store. They were either 1 or 0 grams of carbs per serving (well, what
impacts your blood sugar anyway). They were actually quiet tasty, not bad
at all. I ate the bag (1 serving) of sour fruit chews a short time after
breakfast because I was craving something sweet. I later had a salad for
lunch and not long after that I had one of the worst cases of the "trots"
I've ever had. Not thinking it had anything to do with the candy, I later
opened the jelly beans just to try a couple, put the rest up for later, and
thats exactly what I did. Well, yet again, I"m in the bathroom, in and out
for about an hour to hour and a half, that was last night and I"m not
exactly "right" yet. Is this related to the candy? Seems like I read
something somewhere about this. I"ve eaten the Atkins bars (chocolate,
peanut butter, mint, things) and not had this reaction. Any ideas?

(*Sorry for the nature of the post, but I tried to keep it as clean as
possible!*)

Oh, also, I just finished two weeks, and thought I'd hope on the scales, and
was actually a bit disappointed. My scales (a very cheap one at that) says
I didn't loose any weight, but when I measured myself, I had lost a couple
of inches and that was only in a weeks time (I didn't measure myself at the
very beginning). I was happy to see that, but I want to see the scale go
down. I don't think its because of any muscle mass being added, I haven't
exercised hardly any at all, but oh, well, the clothes are a bit looser none
the less!

There are several differen sugar alcohols. You may be more reactive
to one kind.

Give it some more time. If you are losing inches your body mass *is*
changing, it just hasn't shown up on the scale yet.

Sometimes the scales lie and you have to stare them down under the hot
glare of the interrogation lamp.. eventually they spill the beans
though and tell you your 'real' weight. They really can't hold out
more than a week. Of course, if you're not losing inches too, then
they can hold out forever.

Sugarfree jelly beans and gummy worms seem to have a much higher
concentration of sugar alcohols than sugarfree chocolates and other
candies (just as the real ones have a higher percentage of sugar),
and tend to cause intestinal distress in smaller amounts than other
sugarfree candies.
