The Firm
Hello all! Hope you are having a good day so far.
Have any of you tried 'The Firm'? It is a set of DVDs/Videos that now come with little stairs and a 'magic stick' with detachable weights, etc. The Firm is a combination of aerobics and weight lifting and is said to be very good but I want HONEST opinions before I throw out $60 for it! So, have any of you tried it? Does it work as well as they say on TV? Lol. Those info-mercials are SOOOO tempting! Thanks! -Kara. |

Do you trust info-mercials? If this came as spam would you buy one? What does $60 weigh? That how much weight you will lose And before you think that I'm just being a smart arse, I've been taken in too, and paid good money for weight loss stuff. DON'T DO IT. If you want to exercise get a set of dumbells and go to http://www.stumptuous.com/weights.html You'll get a far better deal Ray |

Well I would just let it go in one ear and out the other but this is not the
first time I have heard of it. I know people who have mentioned using the DVDs/videos in the past b/c they can be bought anywhere. The thing is, I don't talk to them any more to ask if they liked it! The $60 is for 3 2hr long DVDs (with different length workouts), 2 stepping things at different heights, and the 8lb bar with a 5lb middle section and two 1.5 lb dumb bells that attach to the middle section or can be used separately. I was just looking for people on WW who have used it and what they thought. -Kara. "ray miller" wrote in message ... On Tue, 19 Oct 2004 09:30:16 -0400, "Kara H" wrote: Hello all! My wife bought the set you are describing, however she never used it.
So I tried it, and it's a lot harder then it looks. The set we have came with 4 DVD's, the two part steps and the bar. It is a very tough workout, you also need to buy additional dumbells (they recommend 3 different sets of 2). I consider myself to be in OK shape and I have yet to make it thru the full 1 hour workout of any of the DVD's. I have been able to complete the 35 min. DVD. I personally like the workouts because you are getting the best of both worlds (weight training in conjuction with aerobic) I hope this helps. Brian "Kara H" wrote in message ... Hello all! Kara,
Hi, my wife purchased the kit you are talking about. Though she never used it, I decided to. To be honest, I thought that it would be an easy workout. Man was I wrong! It's tough! I'm not in the best shape, so other's may find it easier. But it does a good job of combining aerobics and weight use. You use dumbells for most of the exercises (they recommend getting 3 sets of different weights besides what comes in the kit). I have yet to complete one of the 1+ hours workouts...but I defintely feel like I have accomplished something. I have tried some of the other video workouts (Tae-bo, etc.) and this was much easier to follow along and I felt that I got a much better workout than with any of the other's that I tried. Hope this helps in your decision. Thanks, Brian "Kara H" wrote in message ... Well I would just let it go in one ear and out the other but this is not the first time I have heard of it. I hope this helps. Yes, definitely. That was exactly what I was looking for!!! Thank you! -Kara. |
