Totally Off Topic.

I'm just wondering how others around the country - and/or world are
fairing out w/ gas prices. Within the last week I've noticed our
prices have shot up by 6cents a gallon.

They jump around so much here I don't pay too much attention to them. If I
can fill the van for less than $30 then prices are low G

A normal pattern around here is:
prices are lower on Mon-Wed then jump higher for the weekend
prices are higher at stations near the interstate

Anywhere from $1.35/gal for reg at the "cheap" stations, up to about $1.55
at places like Chevron.

We drove from the upper midwest to Pensacola last week and the prices varied
from 1.64 at home to 1.32 down south. Our local gas prices are notoriously
high. I haven't noticed an increase this week yet because I still have 1/2
tank.

Ha!!!!

Here the best I can do here in the UK is 0.74p per litre - which translates
roughly to $6.50 per gallon to you. This is strange because we too have a
government who go and bomb the crap out of third-world countries for their
oil. The world continues to be a strange and mysterious place to me.

In the meantime - the USA, with just 0.5% of the worlds population, will
continue to produce 25% of the worlds pollution. Ah well, prove once again
there is no god I guess.

Any chance we can get this back OT now ?

Well, your gas prices suck eggs. Is that on-topic?

We pay around $5.50 in the UK for a gallon of unleaded.

I would love to pay your 'high' prices.

What is the reason behind such high gas prices over there?

75% of the price is tax they levy to 'protect' the environment but in
reality its spent on anything. It's high all over the EU but the UK is
worst.

We in San Francisco have some of the highest gas prices in the country.
Whatever yours is, it's cheap compared to ours.
