Very silly NSV!
There was this pair of black stretch cord trousers I made a few years
back... Simple pull-on jobs with close fitting legs, a bit like leggings (all the rage when I made them, even for fat broads!) They always were a bit of a neat fit, but felt good. Eventually, I grew out of them, and put them on one side to go to the charity shop. Then they got tucked into a corner and forgotten about... I was doing a bit of tidying of the heap that collects on the exercise bike (I am not quite up to tackling that yet, but I can see it becoming a replacement for walking on days I get a lift in the near future!), and I found the trousers! I thought I'd just try them on one more time before they went to the charity shop, but they ain't going yet! They are just right! Whoo Hoo! In fact, they fit slightly better than when I made them! I know I made them years ago, because they are done with the over-edge stitch on the Viscount sewing machine, and I bought a Toyota overlocker/serger not long after that. They have been sitting in the 'I must remember to put those in the charity box' heap for about 3 years! One day soon they WILL go to the charity shop, but because they are TOO BIG not too small! I must try to wear them to my WW meeting on Thursday. -- Kate XXXXXX Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |

WTG, Kate. What else is in your charity box? You might find some more good
clothes to wear. "Kate Dicey" wrote in message ... There was this pair of black stretch cord trousers I made a few years back... There's a dress that I tend to wander about in, looking for the way out... Fits like a marquee these days! The dove grey one I made for my friend's wedding last summer went to the charity shop a couple of weeks ago! I ought to have kept it, as it was the trigger for the weight loss, but I just couldn't bear to look at it! All that work making it, and I wore it ONCE! Next thing to go will be my silk dress, but I might keep that as a 'before and after' dress - much nicer than the grey one! No I will NOT be taking it in! It's fully lined, I hate alterations, and while it may be 100% silk, it cost less than £20 to make, and I have worn it plenty of times (at least 3 Christmas parties and two New Year celebrations, plus a couple of dinners and a hen night! Not bad for a £16 remnant dress!). If you hit the URL below, you can find a picture of me wearing it along with the sari jacket (also now way too big!). I'm constantly amazed at the difference a 26 lb loss has made! It doesn't seem like much compared to some folk here, but it is making a big difference to me and my wardrobe! -- Kate XXXXXX Lady Catherine, Wardrobe Mistress of the Chocolate Buttons http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk Click on Kate's Pages and explore! |
