Default Day 3 and LOVIN IT

Man...if it dont get any harder than this....it's a MEATBALL!

I am SO stoked! I cannot believe I put heavy cream in my coffee....am
eating wonderful food I LOVE, am missing 'white stuff" (sugar, flour,
rice, potatoes, pasta) NOT AT ALL, am feeling, well....wonderful and
have lost a pound ALREADY.

O Glorious, glorious day! This is an absolute miracle....usually day 3
of any diet is also about the LAST day, feeling very deprived and
pitiful and "poor me-ish"....yet, Im feeling nothing but EMPOWERED,
content, excited....and totaly on top of my game.

A friend said he saw something on 20/20 or one of those shows about a
year ago, where they took five seriously overweight peeps and put each
one on a dif popular diet, Jenny Craig, weigh****chers, Slimfast, Atkins
and I forget what else.

Anyway, at the end of the study, the Atkins person had lost FAR more
weight and had much fewer complaints about "suffering" than any of the
others.

HAHAHAHA, I remember that feeling! Still feel it, in fact, after 6+ weeks,
usually the "diets" get tedious before the first week is out! What you
wrote is pretty much the same things I was saying on my day 3 - we really
ARE sisters!

I feel the same way about LC as the OP. I feel as though I am finally
allowed to eat as much as I want of what I like. It's been almost a
year and I am not bored at all by eating fatty things such as meat.

Meats, veggies, and dairy - as long as I can have my fats, I can live like
this forever! In fact, I plan to . My family can have their pasta, give
me my sweet delicious spaghetti squash casserole (with ground beef, a little
tomato sauce, and melted cheese) anyday! And I must say, it was no hardship
eating some beautiful chuck roast (sliced like steaks and broiled) and a big
pile of asparagus for dinner today - or the spinach/mozarella/ham omelet I
had for breakfast either. It's truly hard to believe that we can eat such
great foods and still shrink - lol!

IM HIP! LOL...it's so....decadent! Plus, the guilt factor (Im so used
to) feeling ashamed if I eat butter or steak....To be able to DINE like
some kind of rich princess with not a care in the world.....Last night I
had a sirloin burger topped with a slice of aged swiss and some shrooms
sauted in butter.....my huge salad, rich with real bleu cheese....and I
literally burst out laughing.
It was just too amazing. I cant believe eating something that decadent
and "bad" and NOT feeling those guilt pangs Im SO familiar with. I
felt like....I was 'getting away with something", like a successful
jewel thief, maybe, getting all the diamonds and not even being chased
by the cops. It's like being 007---with a Liscense to ENJOY.

If my husband had a nickel for every time I've said, "look at this plate! I
can't believe I'm eating all this great stuff and LOSING WEIGHT!" and then
laughed right out loud. I think we've finally found the plan that "clicks"
for us, you and I and the others here, and that is definitely a joyful
experience after the years of frustration! HAHA, I even took a picture of
one of my dinner plates and put it in my online journal, it just tickles me
so much!

HEY SIS! LOL....I loved reading your journal. Im having a hard time
getting enough carbs in, too. I noticed you said a
quarter cup of milk is 3 gms. I DO miss my milk....amd Im at that age
where calcium counts, LOL. So, Im thinking to make up carb gms by
having the appropriate amount of milk after dinner...?

OH TO DRINK WHOLE MILK AGAIN!!! I havent allowed myself above 2% (and
usually, skim) for....a hundred years or so.

Gotta admit that mashed cauliflower looked pretty durn tasty, too. I'll
try that.

When will you weigh again? and if I may ask....why havent you weighed
since April? Arent you DYING to KNOW????

Im gonna TRY to only weigh once a week, because I tend to obsess. Slight
fluctuations can really send me into a panic , plus I want the THRILL of
seeing some substantial change. So....since I started on a
Monday....I'll weigh on Sundays.

Now...about those pork rinds. How do you measure an oz? o you have a
little food scale? Or is there a trick, like, "one handful = 1 oz"?

If you can find Hood's Carb Countdown it's low carb milk and is wonderful.

I actually did that the other day, had a quarter of a cup of milk with
dinner, I've missed it SO MUCH! I used to drink several glasses of milk
every day, usually 1% or 2% tops, and whole milk was just such a treat! I'd
run out of cream for my coffee and the little store I stopped at didn't have
any, so I got a quart of whole milk to get me by...that last quarter cup was
so delicious I'm thinking of buying it again.

HAHA, actually the opposite of "dying to know" what I weigh . I'm really
not too interested, but am getting a HUGE kick out of the results as far as
how I look, how my clothes fit, how much further my husband's arms can wrap
around me and so forth. If I thought about the actual number too much, I
WOULD obsess! If it doesn't go down fast enough or, heaven forbid, stays
the same, then I will self-destruct. At least, that's been my pattern in
the past. So, since I plan to eat LC forever, I'm not going to worry about
it. I haven't even thought of it much actually...but whenever I have to go
to the doctor next, I'm sure they'll weigh me, that will be the next time I
know my weight. I know I use 360 in my sig file, actually I think it was
like 364 or 367 or something...but as long as I'm not counting pounds, it
doesn't matter to me at this point. BUT, I'm sure when I get down to about
a size 16, I'll want to start weighing myself again - lol.

the pork rinds - I use a gram scale every day for my business, so I
weigh 'em .

I am now addicted to cauliflower mash. It's always been my 2nd favorite
veggie (after spinach) and now I almost can't get enough of the stuff.
According to C Everett Koop MD, it's one of the top ten healthiest
vegetables too - YAY!

(Today's dinner was a lovely stir fry with bits of pork steak, a bag of
frozen broccoli stir-fry veggies, and half a head of cabbage that I chopped.
I haven't done the math yet but I'm sure it'll be more carbs than I usually
get because I mixed in 2 Tbsp of cooked rice on my plate; that alone is 8 gm
so I might just reach 25 today!)
