1500 Calories Per Day
This newsgroup is DEAD! But I'll post anyway in the hopes there is another
sole interested in losing weight by lowering calorie intake - apparently the most unpopular way to lose weight. Activity is booming on other diet newsgroups where they discuss the latest diet crazes. However I really believe it is a matter of simple math. One must eat less to lose weight. How much you can eat and still lose depends on your activity level. I've been eating 1,500 calories in the form of three 500 calorie meals per day. It is working. Lost 3 lbs. this week, so I will continue. I'm very interested in anyone else's diet experiences and I'm always looking for low cal recipes! Hope someone posts. Isn't it interesting that this group is so dead? No one wants to hear the truth that one must eat less to lose weight. They are all busy trying to figure out ways around this fact! Lol No wonder so many Americans are obese! |

1500 Calories Per Day
I think this method is pretty common, at least among more typical people
who seek weight loss tips rather than those who spend a lot of time on message boards and all that. Whenever I look up weight loss I see "cut 500 of your daily calorie intake" I agree it works best. Just testing: http://www.google.com |

1500 Calories Per Day
I must tell you I really enjoy consuming a set amount of calories per day.
I'm free to eat anything I want and still lose weight. If I'm a bad boy, I'll eat something higher in calories and can't eat as much. However, if I'm good, I'll stick to lean meat, fresh veggies, fruit. You can really fill up on these foods while keeping calories down. For example, I can eat one can of Chef Boyardee Ravioli, which is about 500 calories, for a meal. If I'm really hungry, that one can may not satisfy me. However if I make a 500 calorie salad, I'll be full. Chicken broth is also great. You can make some great low-cal soups that will fill you up. I can't believe more people aren't into this kind of dieting. Really works well. "KaylaRain" wrote in message lkaboutsupport.com... 1500 Calories Per Day
Alright, Jade. Thanks in advance for the recipes! I sincerely hope others
who stop by this newsgroup stay and post. This is probably the only newsgroup without spammers! Lol. Low-cal definitely works. "Jade" wrote in message ... Dan Wrote: This newsgroup is DEAD! Lol No wonder so many Americans are obese! Thumbs up to you Dan...People just don't want to admit that there's not a magic pill or diet that is going to make them lose all the weight in some magical burst of light. It takes hard work and determination AND EATING LESS CALORIES THAN YOU BURN. I've had great success with counting calories, lost 55 lbs (twice...lol) I'm a stress eater and becauses of major changes in my life in the last 3 years I've got to lose it again. But I know I can and you can too. My suggestion is to write everything down to keep a running total of calories. Tomorrow I'll send you a recipe for a few favorites of mine. Jade -- Jade |

I totally agree that calories count! I have tried and done it all in the weight loss realm. Almost 20 years ago i had gastric surgery.....and to this day whoever thinks that works forever is wrong. The stomach is a muscle and it stretches, so one must still watch what they eat. Chocolate always goes down easier then an apple in my case! I have a sit down 10 hour a day job, so little exercise in that. Once again i have gained 40 pounds of unwanted fat. I am back to the basics....calorie watching and exercise....nothing too crazy, as one has to realize it's got to be done the rest of your life. I think that is the thing that drives us all *mad* with a so called *diet*. It has to be a life change. Some of those i have done...but as the doctors told me 20 years ago, my body just likes being fat.....all due to genes! GREAT! The best program i have followed was an old WW one that was about 1200 calories....so 1500 seems like a treat. Just my thoughts. |

I count calories. I started my diet last October at 1200 per day. I lost 29 poiunds and I am now at my right weight. I still count calories because I don't want to gain it back. i now eat between 1800 and 1900 per day. I am very interested in low calorie cooking and low calorie treats. I agree with you--it just comes down to the math. Eat 3200 calories less (or exercise more for some of the calories) and you loose weight. |

I also get on my tread mill, but in this heat(100f) I've found the last few day's I've gained a few pounds, and I haven't eaten any more than I usually do. I couldn't figure it out, til I relized my hands and feet felt swelled and stiff. I thought I was drinking enough water, but I guess not. I have gotten into a rut with what to cook so if anyone wants to give me some recipes that don't cost an arm and a leg to buy the ingredience, that would be great. Hippie Mama |

1500 Calories Per Day
Hello All I generally agree with what has been said and I have had some sucess in the past. But isn't it also the case that metabolism can change dramatically. It can slow right down, meaning that even if yoiu drop to 1200 cals, you still maintain your existing weight? Any thoughts on this, and if you agree, any tips to get around it? thanks |
